Carts:

When will I receive a new cart?

New Waste Management carts will be available in early Fall (late August or early September). At this point, all residents on the City service will receive a 64-gallon recycling cart and a 96-gallon trash cart.

Can I choose to use a different container?

Yes, residents may use a different container, as long as it is under 35 gallons.

Can an HOA require that all residents use a certain container?

Yes, per HOA bylaws they may require all residents use the same type of container.

Will a smaller trash bin be an option for those who don't want the 96-gallon cart?

Yes, residents may exchange the 96-gallon cart for a smaller 64-gallon cart option. When the new carts are delivered in the Fall there will be a postcard included upon which you may select the smaller cart option. Please return the postcard to Waste Management, who will handle the transition.

Recycling:

Will all condos be required to recycle now?

No, it is still possible that HOAs may choose not to recycle. The City will be in communication with the condo associations to determine their level of service.

Yard waste, including grass clippings, will also be collected once per week from the first Monday in April through the Friday of the last week in November. Yard waste cannot be mixed with trash for disposal. Free yard waste stickers can be obtained from the Department of Public Services or the Civic Center.
